BIOGRAPHY

Attended 10 years of course work and training from 1964-1974 at
The Brooklyn Museum Art School studying in a variety of different
mediums – Sculpture, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Jewelry and Welding.
Attended private art classes with Roz Levine, as well as painting and life
drawing at The School of Visual Arts from 1969-1970.  Studied sculpture at
The Usdan Center for the Arts during the summer of 1970.
Enrolled full time at The Arts Students League in 1971. Studied sculpture
with Jose DeCreeft and John Hovannes for 2 years. Life drawing classes
with Milton Glasier.
Completed formal training in 1973 and established a private studio in
a Brooklyn storefront. Began a collection of figurative work for bronze and
designed a collection of sculptural jewelry in precious metals. Spent the
following year working at Modern Art Foundry casting and finishing the
bronzes, continued jewelry designing and received scholarships from the
Brooklyn Museum Art School to continue studies.
Invited to the estate of the late sculptor, Daniel Chester French as a
‘Sculptor-in-Residence ‘during the summer of 1974 in Stockbridge, Mass.-
frequently demonstrated life casting as well as being on view sculpting a
major piece in his studio.
Began a career in commercial product development in 1975 and for three
years produced collections of fine sculptural jewelry and solid brass
giftware.  Performed all aspects of product  manufacturing as well as
packaging, promotional materials and sales.
Relocated studio in 1979 called The Escape Hatch. In addition to
completing figurative bronze sculptures for exhibition, developed new
skills in paper engineering.  In 1982 formed a design company Performing
Paper Products,  concentrating primarily in 3-D paper  pop-up sculpture.
Additionally freelanced in 1984 sculpting production models for the gift
and toy and candy industy
In 1985-6 sculpted hundreds of comical characters for a claymation
television special celebrating the centennial of the Statue of Liberty for
Jimmy Picker’s Motion-Picker Studios .
In that same year,  licensed a line of paper pop-up party hats for Recycled
Paper Products Company that were sold nationally.
